Radiation pressure-driven outflows from dusty AGN

چکیده
ABSTRACT Radiation pressure-driven outflows from luminous accreting supermassive black holes are an important part of active galactic nucleus (AGN) feedback. The effective Eddington limit, based on absorption radiation by dust, not electron scattering, is revealed in the plane AGN column density NH as a function fraction ?Edd = Lbol/LEdd, where lack objects seen region limit exceeded. Here, we conduct simulation using cloudy code to deduce radiative force applied dusty gas at and compare gravitational reveal outflow its boundary with long-lived clouds. We also investigate how condition affected various dust properties distribution. As expected, abundance has largest effect NH–?Edd diagram since higher abundance, more feedback, while impact inner radius shell, shell width, spectral shape relatively negligible. presence other central masses, such nuclear star cluster, can make feedback less effective. energy distribution depends mass hole spin. Though effects small, ionizing ultraviolet photons blackbody accretion disc than spin, influence efficiency pressure.

Evidence for Agn-driven Outflows in Young Radio Quasars
We present near-infrared spectra of young radio quasars (P1.4 GHz ≈ 26 − 27 W Hz−1) selected from the WideField Infrared Survey Explorer. The detected objects have typical redshifts of z ≈ 1.6 − 2.5 and bolometric luminosities ∼ 1047 erg s−1. Based on the intensity ratios of narrow emission lines, we find that these objects are mainly powered by active galactic nuclei (AGNs), although star form...
متن کاملRadiation Pressure Supported Starburst Disks & Agn Fueling
We consider the structure of marginally Toomre-stable starburst disks under the assumption that radiation pressure on dust grains provides the dominant vertical support against gravity. This assumption is particularly appropriate when the disk is optically thick to its own infrared radiation, as in the central regions of Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxies (ULIRGs). We argue that because the disk r...
متن کاملInfrared emission from the dusty veil around AGN
We discuss consequences of the concept of a clumpy and dusty torus around AGN. Cloud-cloud collisions lead to an effective viscosity and a geometrically thick accretion disk, which has the required properties of a torus. A quantitative comparison of radiative transfer calculations for dust re-emission from the torus with NIR images, longbaseline visibilities and spectral energy distributions fo...
متن کاملDusty Disks and the Infrared Emission from AGN
The distortions inferred in the gaseous disks of active galaxies suggest that a significant, and possibly dominant fraction of the 1-1000 μm radiation observed from AGN must be thermal emission from gas and dust heated by the central source. We report calculations of the growth and sublimation of dust grains in the outer parts of accretion disks appropriate to AGN. The thermal state of the gas ...
متن کاملThe lifecycle of powerful AGN outflows
During the course of this conference, much evidence was presented that points to an intimate connection between the energetic outflows driven by AGN and the energy budget and quite possibly also the evolution of their gaseous environments. However, it is still not clear if and how the AGN activity is triggered by the cooling gas, how long the activity lasts for and how these effects give rise t...
